Overview
True Link Visa Cards expire on the last day of the month listed as the expiration date. For example, a card with an expiration date of 12/27 will expire on 12/31/2027. If a True Link Card associated with your account is expiring at the end of next month, you will need to order a replacement card to ensure uninterrupted spending. The current card will continue to work until it reaches the expiration date or until a replacement card is activated.
How to Replace an Expiring Card:
- Navigate to the Cardholder’s dashboard. Go to the “Account” tab
- You will see a banner indicating that the card is due to expire soon. Select the option “Yes” to open the replacement card order form
- Follow the prompts and click “Submit” to complete the card order
Important Things to Know About Replacements for Expiring Cards
- New Card Expiration Date and CVV: For security purposes, the expiration date and CVV code will be updated for the replacement card. If you have the card information saved with a merchant (e.g. for subscription services), you may want to update the expiration date and CVV with them.
- The 16-digit Card number and the direct deposit information will remain the same
- Settings and Alerts: All current Spending Settings and Alert preferences will transfer automatically to the replacement card.
Declining a Replacement Card and Closing the Account
If you do not need a replacement card, from the “Account” tab of the Cardholder’s dashboard select “No” in the Expiring Card section underneath the question “Would you like to order a replacement for this expiring card.” If you no longer need the card, select the option to Permanently close the card below the expiring card message. This action will close the account permanently and provide options for returning any remaining card balance.
