Once your True Link Wallet* is active, you can add money to it whenever you need to. The virtual card holds its own balance, separate from the cardholder's balance on their physical True Link Visa® Prepaid Card.
In this article, you'll learn how to schedule a transfer into the virtual card, how to set up a recurring transfer, and how to tell when your funds will be available.
If you haven't opened a Wallet yet, start with How to Open a True Link Wallet.
Schedule a transfer
To schedule additional transfers to the virtual card, click Fund Wallet and fill out the Transfer funds window:
- From – choose where the money is coming from.
- To – this is already set to the cardholder's virtual card. Check the last four digits shown here to confirm you're funding the virtual card and not the cardholder's physical card.
- Amount To Transfer – enter the dollar amount.
- Frequency – choose One Time for a single transfer, or select a recurring option to repeat it on a schedule.
- Transfer Date – pick the date the transfer starts.
- Optionally click + Add Memo to add a note for your own records.
- Read the authorization statement, then click Submit.
When your money will be available
Check the availability date before you submit. Above the Submit button, a green banner tells you the exact day your funds will be ready to use. For example, "Funds will be available Thursday, July 30th."
Transfers from a physical True Link Visa Card to a virtual card can be made available instantly. Transfers from a linked bank account generally take 1 business day to become available. Newer customers can see transfers take up to 5 business days to become fully available depending on the size of the transfer.
You can read more in Funding Timelines and Limits.
Please be aware
- The transfer date is not always the availability date. Transfers between the Wallet and the physical card can be instant, while transfers submitted via a linked funding account or via direct deposit will take at least 1 business day to become available.
- Two balances, two purposes. The cardholder can use their physical card to spend money, and the virtual cards are typically used by administrators to support the cardholder for certain purchases (e.g., large purchases, or subscriptions managed with support from the administrator like a cell phone bill).
- Check the last four digits in the To field before you submit, so the money lands on the virtual card rather than the cardholder's physical card.
